Arcadia's vision of utopia: What is Arcadia?
Before the foundation of this company, and even after the burst of the IT bubble IT vendors were forming alliances in the name of the "Win-Win Model" in order to provide best solutions for their respective clients. In this midst of all of this, I began to doubt whether these off-the-shelf solutions really were in line with customer management strategy.
In reality it may be that vendors all too often pushed their 'vendor-logic' based solutions onto companies with unclear strategy or goals, and that the Win-Win was only for the vendors involved. However, the problem was not only on the vendor side - unable to clearly define their strategy or goals, companies often handed over total control to the vendors with little thought.
In order to solve this problem a process for (1) client company input of a precise business plan based on management strategy to the IT vendor, and (2) IT vendor management was necessary. Apart from very large firms however, the IT resources of many companies are limited, and even human resource training is difficult. That is where we came in. Arcadia was founded in answer to the need for IT professional outsourcing that stands in the shoes of the customer.
A bridge between the client and the IT vendor - executing IT management from the client's side.
This is the kind of professional service that companies have been waiting for. Add to this the fact that placing control on client's side enables the development of a truly sound vendor relationship. We believe this to be the basis for a genuine Win-Win model.
We pledge to make a valuable contribution through an understanding of management strategy, coupled with efficient and effective IT utilization and execution.
Through experience in supporting client companies, we continually question and reassess ourselves - striving to improve and grow as information strategy professionals.
Arcadia's 7 Principles
- Understanding that IT is 'just a tool'.
- Looking at things from the client company management perspective.
- Understanding the interests of all stakeholders.
- Commitment to results
- Continued questioning.
- Continued proposals for added-value.
- Experimenting in new ways of business.
We tirelessly strive towards the establishment of the ideal (Arcadia) Win-Win model.
